Good news for WoWiWe Instruction Co this week; we received word that our Technology-Based Entrepreneurship Grant (TBEG) was approved! This project will put Virtual Cell in front of thousands of students at local and underserved schools, schools that might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience our game.
We always welcome the chance to put Virtual Cell in front of new eyes; WoWiWe gains useful feedback from every new player! Each teacher helps us improve our classroom support, and each student helps polish the gameplay.
We thank the North Dakota Department of Commerce for accepting our proposal, and the NDSU Technology Incubator for shepherding us through the process. Expect more good news in the Spring of 2014 as this project gains steam.

Electron Transport Challenge Now Available for Smartphones and Tablets
Electron Transport Challenge, WoWiWe's educational minigame about the electron transport chain, is now available on three major app stores for 99 cents! Find it for your favorite device from Google Play, iOS App Store, or at Amazon.
The WoWiWe Virtual Cell's Electron Transport Challenge is a puzzle game where the objective is to rebuild an electron transport chain inside a mitochondria by moving and aligning proteins. When enough chains are functioning properly, energy production becomes steady enough to win the level.
Electron Transport Challenge is also available within WoWiWe's flagship product for PC and Mac, Virtual Cell. Virtual Cell teaches students about the inner workings of a plant cell, including the electron transport chain, photosynthesis, and osmosis.

Rock Hunt Now Available on iOS!
WoWiWe's new rock and mineral identification game called Rock Hunt is now available from the iOS App Store! Only 99 cents for this great new educational app.
Rock Hunt is a rock and mineral identification game based on a geology field trip. Players visit 10 different locations and identify 5 rocks or minerals in each one. But it's not as easy as guessing! You need to learn where to find them, what they look like, and the tests (scientific experiments!) necessary to identify them. But don't worry, your trusty companion Owly will help you learn everything you need to know.
* 10 different areas (geologic formations!) to explore!
* 10 scientific experiments in your own "laboratory"!
* 50 rocks and minerals to identify!
* 4 unlockable achievements!
* Finish a level with the fewest touches or the shortest time to get the most stars!

ISTE San Antonio: Day 2
Day two was another productive day of scanning badges, handing out USB drives, and showing teachers the future.
Just kidding. Kids are the future, right? And happy students make a happy teacher.

ISTE San Antonio: Day 1
Here we are again in sunny San Antonio. The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) conference is in full swing. Our booth is much more exciting these days; the big-screen TV and Macbook Air catch a lot of eyes.
And some people only have eyes for video games.
If you're an ISTE attendee, hire a sherpa and make the trek to booth 5288, located somewhere in the suburbs of the conference floor.

West Fargo High School Testing
Last week was very busy for WoWiWe Instruction Co with a conference and the official release of Virtual Cell. At the same time, we had a crew out to West Fargo High School in North Dakota for some testing of the game in real classrooms. The screenshots below show the class fulfilling their first identification goal.
STEM St. Louis
We've made it back from the STEM conference in St. Louis last week. The
response was excellent and we would like to extend a great thank you to
all those who stopped by our booth.
We enjoyed sharing the game and hearing feedback from teachers and Biology fans to help improve Virtual Cell. We'll see you in the game.
WoWiWe also recommends, in the strongest language possible, situating one's booth near the robot booth.

NSTA San Antonio: Day 3
After our slightly slower Friday we were worried that Saturday would be a sea of boredom punctuated by our workshop. We were wrong. We were mobbed.
We managed to capture this shot when both of us were not helping three people at once. Saturday's interest dwarfed our first two days, and that's before you consider the workshop over the lunch hour.
We don't believe we even doubled up on visitors; people who had come to the booth didn't come to the presentation and vice versa. All in all a very productive conference for teacher interest and corporate networking alike.
WoWiWe also recommends, in the strongest language possible, situating one's booth near the SeaWorld booth.
That's it for our NSTA experience. Thank you to all the teachers who stopped by, and we hope to see you again online.

NSTA San Antonio: Day 2
Day Two of NSTA came and went without a hitch. It was slow going this morning and we feared the conference might have ended without telling us, but the afternoon picked up steam and we ended up with almost as much traffic as yesterday. There's still one more day left to see us at booth 1817!
Or, more importantly, visit our workshop at noon in room 007B. We'll be walking you through the product front to back -- or as much as we can cover in ninety minutes. Attendees can follow along on their laptops and take the full version of the game home with them to preview for a month.

NSTA San Antonio: Day 1
A long, long day of conventioneering is behind us, and we couldn't be more thrilled.
Traffic at booth 1817 was steady throughout the day, aided no doubt by the large SeaWorld display not twenty feet away. Biology teachers all seem excited about the Virtual Cell and we've had some great conversations about pricing and future modules.
It looks like we might have quite the crowd at our Saturday workshop. At noon on Saturday we'll take room 007B on a guided tour of what the Virtual Cell has to offer, and attendees can use the full client account provided to explore on their own time until May 15th.

NSTA San Antonio: Day 0
This may look familiar to you; it's becoming second nature to us! The WoWiWe booth makes its third appearance in the cavernous exhibition halls of NSTA San Antonio:
We weren't kidding about the cavernous part. Our camera is not adequate to capture the scope of this convention:
And even this lovely site can't quite convey the scale: http://www.expocadweb.com/13snan/ec/forms/attendee/indexTab.aspx
Trust us, it's a jaunt to find us this time around. Put on your hiking boots and come visit booth 1817, Thursday through Saturday.

San Antonio NSTA 2013
We're official: we just arranged for our exhibitor badges at the NSTA Conference in San Antonio. Come see our booth near the giant SeaWorld location, between April 11-13. We will be displaying the Virtual Cell with the opportunity to play! Of course, we managed to get our exhibition space across from the gourmet popcorn booth, visit us for a win win situation. These are the important things, people.
